Walnut Creek
Whole-Home Remodel

  • The clients relocated their young family from Los Angeles to the Bay Area. They purchased this home which had not been remodeled since the 60’s. They desired a whole-home remodel to include a craft room for her, a guest-suite for family and visitors’ extended stays, and a custom-display area for his collection of Japanese whiskey. The two young children required desks for remote-learning and schoolwork.

  • An open-floorplan was designed to expand the flow between the kitchen, dining room and the family room. The kitchen was modernized and re-arranged for a more efficient food-prep workspace. The children’s desk was built in the family room (rather than bedrooms). Large sliding doors and windows expand the living space from the indoors to the landscaped yard and patio. Contemporary wood walls and floating shelves were designed to modernize the interiors. In the primary bedroom, the window was replaced with a slider to access the new, private deck. The Primary Bath was also reconfigured with an improved floorplan, large walk-in shower and a double-sink vanity. A large window was added to the guest bedroom; the guest bath was also updated with a more contemporary design and large walk-in shower.
